Even though Logan is 3 1/2 months, it feels like he’s hit a new “stage” in his life. He’s no longer the newborn soothed by, well, newborn things. He’s a very active and alert baby boy that likes to sit and be entertained. So, without further ado, here’s the items Logan is into at 4 months – or somewhere around there.

1. Snug’a'bunny Cradle Swing

Amazon Link
We’re still using this for naps. However, he doesn’t like it quite as much as he used to. I should say, he doesn’t like nap time quite as much as he used to. He’ll fuss for a few minutes when I put him into the swing now, knowing doom (aka nap) is about to approach. However, he does pass out pretty quickly… maybe around 5 minutes? He still has decently-sized naps in this, probably about 90 minutes each.

2. Rock’n'play

Amazon Link
He still sleeps in this, but he’s kinda getting too big, so we’re thinking of finally transitioning him to his crib… once we figure out how to get the white noise into his room.

3. High Chair

Amazon Link
He loves loves loves his high chair. He’s actually still very uninterested in solid foods, but he loves sitting in the high chair. It gets us belly laughs. :) I like getting him used to it too.. since solids aren’t terribly far off either way.

4. Activity Gym

Amazon Link
Logan is totally into this now. He likes being on his back on it and he’ll grab at all the toys I hang up. He’ll get bored after about 10 minutes, which is when I put him onto his tummy and he goes on to discover everything under him. I love watching him doing tummy time, it’s so adorable. He hated tummy time until about 2 weeks ago, so I consider that a big milestone.

5. Sophie the Giraffe teether

Amazon Link
I’m sure there’s better, organic teethers out there and whatnot, but Logan does love his Sophie. She squeaks when pressed, which – while sounding like a dog toy to me – I think makes her seem more alive and interactive to Logan. I usually pull out Sophie when he gets fussy, and he’ll play with her and chew on her for quite a while.

6. Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes

Amazon Link
Logan loves this, and pushing the tunes can keep him busy for up to half an hour. Him pushing it is hit or miss and sometimes I have to help out, but happy baby is very much worth it.

7. Door bouncer

Amazon Link
While he can’t bounce himself yet, he’s fascinated with sitting in it and swinging or twirling and just watching everything that’s happening. He really doesn’t like lying down very much anymore.

8. Bumbo

Amazon Link
Logan likes his bumbo well enough – he gets to sit, afterall! – but with so many other things in the house that promote sitting and don’t leave him on the floor (ie high chair, rock’n'play, door bouncer), the bumbo doesn’t get that much use. Plus, Logan’s a pretty big kid. I’m not sure about his current weight, but I estimate it to be somewhere around 16lbs and the bumbo seems like a snug fit right now. It might even out when he’s more active.

9. Books!

Amazon Link
Logan loves reading books with me. He’ll touch the book and it looks like he tries to turn the pages though that might well be accidental. He loves staring at the pictures. We read at least one or two per day.

10. Long-armed onesies, pants with footies and one-piece sleepers

Amazon Link
I still put Logan in one-pieces whenever I can and long-armed onesies with footie pants and a jacket when we go out. I love the one-pieces with zippers but even the buttoned ones aren’t so bad… definitely beats shirt+pants+socks by so, so much. Besides, there’s some pretty cute stuff out for boys, especially on babygap. Expensive, though.
