Sitting

This boy has a new obsession. It’s called sitting up. The problem is that while he does a darn fine job sitting with assistance, he definitely isn’t at the sitting unassisted stage. Especially when you factor in that he sees so many things he’s interested in when he sits and tries to lunge for them, which would result in him toppling over if there was no one holding him.
It’s a curse and a blessing. For one, you can always count on sitting making him happy if he’s in a foul mood. However, it definitely takes one arm out of doing anything useful, often even both of them.
Yesterday, we went out to eat with the little guy in tow – the first time since he was just a wee one-month old and would sleep through the whole thing anyway. Not so now. Ohhh no. We arrive, and the little guy graciously tolerates the car seat until we’re in the establishment. No longer, though. As soon as we’re seated, I have to take him out and let him sit on my knee. He actually spent the majority of the time talking to the pink table right in front of him, which was at the same time weird and adorable.
I on the other hand spent the entire time eating with one hand. There was a lot of rice. Miraculously, I didn’t really spill any. I think by the time he’s 6 months old, I may perfect this technique.
This picture was taken with my foot on the couch and the little guy sitting on my leg, cause that’s how we roll:

The sleep regression is still continuing. He woke up at 4:30 last night (he hasn’t done that in months!) and he’s amiable and all… but sleeping is getting more unpredictable. In fact, I had him penciled in for at least another hour of nap right now, but he’s talking like crazy in the other room. I better get him.
I do hope sleep will be back to normal soon!

Haha, love how babies interact with the most random things
